Have you ever heard of ATCs (Artist Trading Cards)? They were new to me last year. I fell in love with them!!!

European Papers has had exhibits in 2005 & 2006. I submitted 5 entries in each exhibit. Was I ever excited when I received an email from Lisa Ohmer on October 27th. In it she said:

“Congratulations! You were awarded "Best Fabric/Fiber" in the House of Cards-The Emerging Art of Artist Trading Cards exhibition. The opening went very well, with more than 85 in attendance. We will be sending you your award certificate, poster and honorarium in the next week or so... Kind regards, Lisa Ohmer.

ATC’s are miniature works of art, created on a 2 ½ x 3 ½ card stock. There are no restrictions as to what you use to create them… painting, stamping, collage, drawing… your imagination is your only limitation. They are traded and not sold.

Introduced in 1996 by an artist in Zurich… The first ATCs exhibit in North America was held in 1997 in Calgary, Canada… Here in the United States European Papers held their first Exhibition in 2005. The phenomenon of ATCs continues to grow through trades in person and by mail.

If you are in or near Columbus Ohio; “visit the new gallery show, "House of Cards II- The Emerging Art of Artist Trading Cards" through December 16th. This amazing display is the largest exhibition of Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) in the world, with more than 4,000 of these miniature works on display. The gallery and studio shop are open Wednesday-Saturday from 11-4; you can also visit on the third Tuesday of each month for Artful Evenings from 6-8:30 (no RSVP is required and it is free).” Tell them Lyneen sent you!!!
