Postcard Friendship Friday - De Soto 1920's

The De Soto Hotel Dalhart Texas early 1920's.
I looked everywhere for information on this lovely hotel. There wasn't much to find. The only reference to the hotel was on this site HERE!
During the drought years of the 1930s Dalhart was notorious for its "black dusters". R. S. (Uncle Dick) Coon, a wealthy businessman who owned the DeSoto Hotel, became legendary for his generosity to depression-stricken farmers and cowboys.
(If you know something about the history of the hotel I would love to hear it!)
Go HERE to see more great postcards!
Thank you Beth at
