Be sure to join the challenge at I Brake For Stamps blog! This week the theme is Shabby Chic. I only have a few IBFS stamps and I used almost all of them on this card.
- From Wikipedia “items are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. At the same time, a soft, minimalistic, and feminine feel is emphasized to differentiate it from regular vintage decor; hence the "chic" in the name.”
Supplies used to create the card.
First, stamp IBFS Arch Background on transparency second stamp the image on light color (ivory) pattern paper. Heat emboss the transparency with black embossing powder and cut out image. Color the image on patten paper with COPICS to give the image depth then cut out the image. Layer the transparency over the paper image adhering with tacky glue, just a dot in each corner.
Second, stamp IBFS Bird # 5 on sewing pattern tissue paper. Spray tissue with fixative, be sure to follow manufacturers directions for proper ventilation. The fixative gives the tissue more body. Set aside to dry a few minutes.
Cut background piece of pattern paper to fit the base card. Lay metallic mesh on pattern paper and swipe with brown ink. This will create additional dimension to the background. Using white paint frame the background edges with a wisp of paint. Also add a little paint to the edges of the transparency. Stamp IBFS Grunge BIRD Text after the paint has dried on the background. Attach the background to the card base.
Carefully tear the excess tissue around the bird. Attach to the transparency using glue stick. Adhere the transparency to card. Add flower embellishment.
