Altered Pages Monday ~ Gelatos on Manilla Tags

This week I've done more experimenting with my new Faber Castele Gelatos and manila tags this week.

On my first tag I took the one color and colored a portion of the tag with it, then used water to blend it over the entire tag. With black ink used the stamp that came with the Gelatos and the Time Travel Stencil to create a background. Heat embossed with clear embossing powder and highlighted the mirror with Sakura Crystal Lacquer. Final embellishments: Robin's Nest Dew Drops and vintage lace.

On my second tag I added a little of the gold metallic to the red Gelatos, then used water to blend it over the entire tag. With black ink used the Bingo Border stamp, repeating rows of the bingo numbers filling the tag. Heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Add an actual bingo playing piece that has been sealed with Sakura Crystal Lacquer

GOT Gelatos
Start experimenting!
It is a lot of fun!

JUST START PLAYING!

This week Faber-Castell Gelatos™ arrived in my mail.  I had heard so much about these amazing creamy water-soluble pigments that I had to have some in my toolbox of supplies.   Now that I have them what do I do.

PLAY ~ EXPERIMENT ~ HAVE FUN
My wonderful mail included Neutral, Reds and Metallic Gelatos™. Also Love Birds and Time Travel templates, Loralie Designs Dressform stamp set and a few more items.
In my art journal I scribbled the page with Gelatos™ Chocolate, Peach and Butterscotch, then brushed lightly with water to blend. I LOVE the texture I got on the paper I was using. To speed drying I used a heat gun.
Next using the Time Travel stencil and Gelatos™ Earl Grey I spread the Gelatos™ with my finger into the stencil of the large clock face.

Then using the Love Birds stencil and Gelatos™ Red Cherry and Guava spread the  Gelatos™ with my finger over one of the birds (Chocolate on the branch portion of the stencil).
I wanted to see how stamping would look on the Gelatos™! I randomly stamped using stamps from the Loralie Designs Dressform stamp set.  I had fun playing, I can't wait to try the Gelatos™ on other types of paper and a canvas.  I will be using Gelatos™ to make backgrounds for cards and other projects!

Collective Visions Gallery

April is National Poetry Month
Collective Vision Art Gallery gathered poets and artists.
Artists created an piece inspire by a poet!
My assemblage was inspired by a poem written by Maria from Old Town Custom Framing and Gallery
located downtown Bremerton, WA.

She wrote about a tree that fell in a storm and how that tree held so many memories of her children growing up.
 Front of the box.
Representing the tree,
the outside is covered with leaf pattern paper.
   Inside childhood memories

During the month of April you can see the poem and my assemblage on display at Claywerks Downtown Bremerton 308 Pacific Street.

There will be a special presentation
