Quick Halloween Card!

Quick cards are easy when you have prepared extras as you go along.  A couple of weeks ago I shared how to use Stencils with Pan Pastels.  Today, I am using one of the Pan Pastels backgrounds I made earlier this month with stencils and VersaMark!

I used my VersaMark Dazzle pad with a sponge and carefully applied the VersaMark on my paper through the stencil patternThen with one of a Pan Pastel soft sponge I gently applied the Pan Pastels in a circular motion.

The Halloween image is from the Antique Halloween collage sheet (layered on black cardstock).

The panel was layered on Black Cardstock and then on the card. A green ribbon and a few rhinestones are the final touches.

In less than 15 minutes I was able to create my card!

Altered Playing Card Challenge - Preparation

I have decided to take the Challenge with
Claudine from Claudine's Art Corner!!!

The Altered Playing Card Challenge!!!

Call me crazy, but this sounds too much fun to pass up.
If you would like to join it isn't too late.
We start the week of Sept 1st! and go for 26 weeks!

From Claudine, "I just love altered playing cards and I have always wanted to do a deck for myself but it always seemed like a huge undertaking to make 52 cards. Well I have decided to do a set here on my blog and spread it out through 26 weeks. This means I will be doing two altered cards a week and I'm hoping that you will follow along with me and maybe do your own set
All the tutorials will be FREE to you and since it will only be two cards a week it will be so easy for you to follow along and make your own set, this project will take a little over 6 months or so to complete but by the end you will have a wonderful set of 52 altered playing cards"

Today I will start applying Gesso to my cards!

Altered Pages, PanPastels and Stencils

The Altered Pages Design Team is really excited to be working with PanPastels during September. We hope you enjoy  seeing what we create and are inspired to work with them yourselves.  PanPastels will be available AlteredPages.com soon!

"Ultra Soft Artists’ Painting Pastels. For Painting, Drawing & Mixed Media! A revolutionary new way to use color! PanPastel Colors are professional artists’ quality soft pastel colors packed in a unique pan format (cake-like). The special qualities of PanPastel Colors mean that artists can blend and apply dry color like fluid paint for the first time."
Today I would like to share using PanPastels with stencils to create awesome backgrounds.

To start I used my VersaMark Dazzle pad with a sponge and carefully applied the VersaMark on my paper.
Then with one of a PanPastel soft sponge I gently applied the PanPastel in a circular motion.

Here you can see three different stencil patterns

I created a card using one of the pattern papers I created.   The "H" is from the "H" is for Halloween collage sheet. The image is from the Halloween ATCs collage sheet

The panel was layered on Black Cardstock and then on the card. A green ribbon is the finishing touch.

Visit the Altered Pages blog during September to see what the Altered Pages Design Team has in store for inspiration!!!
