Gelatos and Stamping!

I love using Gelatos  as a background for stamping. I am so glad Altered Pages had the opportunity to partner with Lost Coast Design, I have had a great time stamping this month!  Today I am sharing a third technique using Gelatos the other two were direct to paper.  This time I am taking the paper to the Gelatos.
Today I am using the unmounted Grunge Tree from  Lost Coast Designs stamps. It is a background stamp, measuring 4 x 5 1/4.

and the Silhouette of Bird on Bike stamp, which is 3 inches tall.
SuppliesLost Coast Designs Stamps -Grunge Tree and Bird on Bike
Craft Mat
Black ink
Embossing Powder
Water -spray bottle
Using random colors rub Gelatos on the craft mat.

Mist the Gelatos with water.  You may need to use the waterbrush to full color coverage on the craft mat. Don't mix the colors too much or they will muddy!

Once you are happy with the colors on the craft mat the lay the paper on it.

Gently lift paper from craft mat, if need cover white areas by patting the paper face down on color still on the craft mat.  Do this until you have your desired results, being careful not to muddy the colors. Let dry or use heat gun to dry.

When the paper is dry you are ready to stamp.  Mount the Grunge Tree from  Lost Coast Designs stamp on an Acrylic Block with Double Sided Tape.  Gently ink the stamp on the raised areas with a dark gray ink!

Let the ink and the Gelatos totally dry before stamping the Bird on the Bike.
With black ink stamp the Bird on Bike.  Then heat emboss with embossing powder. Trim the sides and punt on card stock.  On metal foil dry emboss the word "JOURNEY" with a stamp.

I really love how the background turned out on this card. I wanted a stormy sunset.... I think I got it. What do you think?

I think it's a fabulous sunset! I don't have gelato's but I do have some paint stick so I will definitely give this a try! Great idea to stamp the background in grey too, that way the black really pops!. It's been great having you play along with us this month at Lost Coast Designs, and thank you so much for linking to our challenge. Sue xx
