Travel Tag

Traveling is one of my favorites things to do... I dream of the places I would love to visit next!

Here is a tag filled with some of those dreams ...

"Love Makes the World go Round" with travel.

Manila Tag
Brown mist
Metallic Rub
Gilding Foil
Altered Pages Collage Sheet Vintage Travel
Bazzill Mini Edges
Chipboard gears
Tacky Glue
Ink brown & gold
Black ink pen
Glue Stick
Dimensional Foam

On Manila Tag apply Paints using Punchinella, let dry.  Mist dry tag with Brown mist, then let dry.

Apply Metallic Rub randomly on the tag. Then adhere Gilding Foil with DUO to the tag.  Add a Bazzill Mini Edge to the bottom of the tag with Tacky Glue.

Type the words " LOVE to Travel" on the computer.  Draw lines around with black ink.  Use Metallic Rub to age.

Cut image from Altered Pages Collage Sheet Vintage Travel, adhere to cardstock with Glue Stick, then attach to tag with Dimensional Foam.
Finally, attach the sentiment and Chipboard gears with Tacky Glue and Dimensional Foam.  Add a bit of Twine.

Cherrelyn Horse Car

In April of 2016 I shared a postcard of the Cherrelyn Horse Car in Denver Colorado HERE.  The Cherrelyn line operated from 1893 until 1910!

Mailed Dec 4,1908 from Denver, Colorado to Turlock, California

Recently I found another image of the Cherrelyn Horse Car

Postcard never mailed
I certainly hope the people sitting on top were posing for the picture and didn't ride up there!
"Uniquely made for the hill leading up to Cherrelyn, the Horse Car was pulled up the hill by one of five horses assigned to the job (Quickstep, Frederick, Curley, Dobbin, and Old Dick). It would make several stops along the way for passengers and upon arrival at the top the horse was disconnected then backed up a ramp and placed onto the trolley. When the shoppers were ready to return home, they would climb aboard the trolley and the conductor would give them and the horse a push. Gravity did the rest as passengers were whisked back down the hill to Broadway and Hampden. It is said that the trip took 15 minutes to get to the top and only 3 minutes to return back to the bottom."
