Valentines with Altered Pages and DecoArt! & Unruly PaperArts...

I am going to share my Valentines!!
When January ends it means one thing... Valentines is just around the corner!  Today I have a few Valentines postcards!  These will have to mailed in envelopes as they have dimensional embellishments on them!

Three sweet Valentines...

In my stash I had a few heavy duty blank postcards that I decided to use for my Valentines. First, paint the postcards with DecoArt paints Media Fluid Acrylics: Primary Magenta, Cadmium Red Hue and Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint: Celebration Pink. Let it dry!

Apply a thin coat of Matte Medium add doilies, sheet music and Altered Pages collage images.

On one of the cards I added a couple of hearts using a stencil and DecoArt Modeling Paste. Let it air dry.

Adhere old sheet music with Matte Medium, it makes great background material.

Then add Doilies and Altered Pages collage images with Matte Medium. Let dry. Once dry add Washi Tape, Dew Drops and Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle!

This has been a great month Thanks DecoArtst for all of the great products, love how they compliment Altered Pages collages and more!

Journal from a Composition Book!

I sure hope everyone on the Design Team is having as much fun as I am with the products we received from our partner DecoArt this month!!!  The products are high quality and clean up is a snap with soap and water!
Today I have altered a Composition Journal for my design team project on the Altered Pages Blog!
First, I covered the book front and back with gesso. I love starting with gesso when a book has a smooth shiny surface.
The gesso gives the paint something to hold onto! Let it dry.
Then with the DecoArt DecouPage I added an interesting Vintage Text - Dictionary Page, making sure to get out all of the bubbles. Once the page was dry I added some texture here with DecoArt  Modeling Paste and Punchinella on the front and back.  Then let it dry thoroughly.
Once dry, start painting with Media Fluid Acrylics:  Primary Magenta, Antiquing Cream and Cadmium Red Hue and Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint: Celebration Pink. Leave interesting areas of the text unpainted.  For more texture and contrast spray with irRESITable!
Back and front of the journal, ink around the edges and the spine of the journal with brown.
This is what I had planned... got this far and felt it wasn't finished... so I kept going.
Add bubbles to the page with a small bottle top dipped in Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint: Black.  Also painted a frame around the areas of test not covered in paint.
Decided the Leaky Shed Queen Swallow would look great on the journal.  I inked Leaky Shed Queen Swallow with black ink and heat embossed her with clear embossing powder.
Add the Washi with DecoArt Matt Medium.  Finally a little washi tape with a little

Here is my journal!

Have fun Creating!!!!

Yarnia by Yarnspirations - Best of Show at CHA 2015~~~

When I walked up to this display at CHA no one had to tell me the story...
I have read the books and watched the movies over and over!  I was in AWE!!!

Patons® Bernat® CARON®

Here we have scenes from The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.  Everything has been created from yarn! The doors, animals, hair, clothing, tent and more!

The Train Station

Children were evacuated from London during WWII.  Mom's leaving their children at the train depot, they are sending them to the country to get them away from the city and the nightly blitz raids!

Peter, Susan, Edmond and Lucy are sent to their uncle's in the country.  No details were left out... each child even had their tags with name and destination.

Don't miss the train tracks!

Through the Wardrobe we see the lamppost and the faun.

Stepping through the Wardrobe, everything is covered with snow!

Winter in Yarnia!
The first thing seen in Yarnia is the  lamppost, including a knitted flame!

Mr. Tumnus with his red scarf is the first creature Lucy meets in Narnia.

All the characters are made of yarn including the Fox

and the Beavers!

The White Queen is there with her wolves!

 Winter in Yania!

Even the red birds in the trees are yarn!
