Box Cards!!!

I love sending these little box cards... people are so surprised when they open them!  They are not that hard to make.  I wonder why I haven't made more of them!

Robin's Nest Clear on Blue Swirl Glitter Cardstock
Robin's Nest Fleur Plum Cardstock
Sea Horse Glitter Chipboard
Dew Drops Water
Small Starfish
Double Sided Tape
Tacky Glue
Paper Cutter

Cut the Blue Swirl Glitter Card Stock 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, then score at 2, 4, 6 and 8 inches.  Then turn the paper and score in half (2 3/4 inches).

Cut off on of the 1/2 inch tabs and notch the remaining one (see image).

Fold all score lines.  To make the box add adhesive to the tab (the right side or the side with the glitter) fold the box and press flat, with the opposite side on box on the taped tab, press hard.

Form the Blue Swirl Glitter Card Stock cut two 2 3/4 by 3 inches squares, these are for the inside foundation of the box.  With the 3 inch side of the square at the top of your ScorPal score on the 1/2 inch and 2 1/2 inches.

Adhere the foundation pieces to the inside of the box as pictured (note: if they are a little off like mine, it is OK).  Most important is to make sure the box is able to close flat.

Next from a contrasting paper, I am using Fleur Plum Cardstock, cut three pieces slightly smaller (depending on how much of a border you would like around them) than the flaps are 2 3/4 by 3 inches.  Adhere to the flaps.  Cut slightly smaller than 5 x2 inches for the back of the box from the Blue Swirl Glitter Card Stock, adhere to the inside back of the box.

Use tacky glue to adhere one of the Sea Horse Glitter Chipboard to the back.

The second and third Sea Horsed will be attached to the two foundations pieces, using tacky glue on their tails.  The fourth is adhered to the front flap, aligning the tail with the bottom of the flap.  Before they are dry, be sure the card can fold flat and nothing sticks out the sides... if it does the card will not fit in the envelope!

Add Dew Drops Water for a little bling and  Small Starfish to the three panels!  Also if you like add a little bling to the outside of the box.

Since the fourth seahorse's head sticks above the fold when I mail the card I will not flip that panel up.  Now it is ready to put in the envelope! Using the measurements of my card this will fit in an A2 envelope.  Since I have the Dew Drops Water and Small Starfish on the outside of the box I would not mail this in the US mail unless it was inside a box or something to protect it... the metering machine a the post office would eat this card up!  You can write a short message on the back of the box... or I usually include a tag with a message!

When the recipient opens the envelope they have a beautiful box card!
