Alice's Utterly Mad Party Pocket Page!!!

I am a big fan of pocket pages!!!
and I love anything ALICE!!!
This was created for one of my Design Team projects for
For this pocket page I used the
Mailbox Muse kit  Alice's Utterly Mad Party!!
"At Last!  We thought you'd never arrive!"
Fits perfectly in two pockets!
What is an Alice story without a KEY!
With gold paint and my Stencil 1 Wallppaer Repeating Keys, I painted a gold key some text from "Alice in Wonderland".

The tall image of Alice is not cut in half, her feet are inside a pocket and her head is on the outside of the pocket above it.

Cut the background cards 2 1/2 x 3 1/2- add embellishments as you desire.

Unruly PaperArts Reader Art Quest

Today I am sharing my inspiration card for the
Unruly PaperArts Reader Art Quest!

April 2015 Readers Art Quest, we are changing things up a bit and decided that we would take some inspiration from the Bizarre National Holidays for our Challenge Themes over the coming months. For instant our April Theme was inspired by Zoo Lovers Day, Save the Animal Day and Lost Dog Awareness Day.

I got my inspiration for the butterfly exhibit at our local zoo.
If you haven't hear of Chameleon Pens they are alcohol based pens... with this set of 20 pens you can create over 100 colors!  They are amazing!

The butterfly is from Indigo Blu, colored with Cameleon Pens.

Visit Unruly PaperArts and see what the other designers have created to inspire you...

The Key to Understanding!

Stencil 1 is the Altered Pages partner for the month of April...
I love my  large Key Repeat Wallpaper Stencil!!!

This month I have been inspired by others to create Pocket Letters!
Using papers from the Mailbox Muse Kit Art on the Orient Express, cut 9 cards 3 1/2, for the base of my page!

Tape a couple of cards on a hard surface, washi tape works well.  Through the large Key Repeat Wallpaper Stencil ink a few keys on cards in strategic places with Versamark

Heat emboss with black embossing powder.
Layout cards as they will appear in the Pocket Page

 Then embellish...
Ink and heat emboss  Leaky Shed Gears,
adhere with double stick tape!

Add Edges Bazzill banners, ribbon and rhinestones.

Print quote on computer, spritz paper with spray mists.  Cut lines of text, ink edges, adhere to cards.
Please be a traveler, not a tourist.
Try new things, meet new people.
and look beyond what is right in front of you
Those are the keys to understanding
this amazing world we live in.
- Andrew Zimmern

When finished place cards in the pockets.
Add little gifts and letter to page for your pocket pal!

Stencil 1!

This month over at Altered Pages
we are working with stencils from
Stencil 1 has several sizes of stencils...
I love keys and couldn't pass up working with the
Key Repeat Wallpaper Stencil.
The large Repeat Wallpaper Stencils are the perfect size to create your own pattern papers!
Using an ivory sheet of paper, I placed the stencil over it and applied VersaMark directly from the ink pad.

Randomly place the stencil and ink with the VersaMark to add additional keys to the background.

Color the paper with Pan Pastels.  The VersaMark picks up the colors vibrantly, the tooth of the paper also picks up the colors of the pan pastels.  Apply a fixative, I use aerosol hairspray!

Second, on Craft Cardstock use Gesso with a pallet knife an apply over the stencil. Set aside to dry, when dry it is ready to use.
Be sure to wash the stencil immediately...
don't let the Gesso dry on it.
Finally, a card! Using the stencil with VersaMark, cover with clear embossing powder and heat.  Layer papers and ribbon, apply with double sided tape, fussy cut Altered Pages Victorian Circus collage image. Cover the image with VersaMark and heat emboss with embossing powder, it appears to be enameled. Stamp sentiment with black ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Embellish with Dew Drops!

Love the large STENCIL 1 stencils!
