Merry Altered Christmas Jean!

This month the Altered Pages Design Team joined together to make an altered book for Jean the owner of Altered Pages!  Jean has been a dream to work with and very generous with the team.  She works really hard to provide our team with awesome companies to partner with. 

 

Each member of the design team created a page front and back and mailed them to me.  I created the covers and a page of my own.  Then assembled the book.   Here you will see the pages I created, with supply lists.  You can view the entire book on the Altered Pages Blog HERE!

The Robin's Nest Craft Engineer Winner! THANK YOU!

I want to THANK The Robin's Nest

for all the wonderful product I won!

 

I was very excited when my hot air balloon was selected as the first place project in the Robin's Nest Craft Engineer contest.  Full post of my project is HERE! Not only did I win but my local scrapbook store won... Scrapbook Zone.  My balloon is on display in the Scrapbook Zone!

 

 

 This is what I selected... OH MY GOSH this is a lot of product!

 

There are three stacks of paper here, each at least an inch thick!

 

In January at the Scrapbook Zone we will have a special make-n-take event... two dimensional hot air balloons!

Temari

Temari the Art of Japanese thread balls!  Temari art dates back at least 1,000 years. 
Temari means “hand” (te) “ball” (mari).  Starting out as toys for children, over the years they have developed into objects of art. 

For Christmas this year I was honored to receive not one, but nine Temari thread balls from my good friends Cathy & Jo!  These are a treasure!

 

Thank you so very much... they will be treasured!

Prime Rib Wrapped in Bacon!

This year I decided to try something different! I wrapped the prime rib in bacon... then followed the directions. 

 

 

Hot oven preheated at 450 for 15 minutes.  Then 325 for 2.5 hours, testing the temperature the last 30 minutes, 120 is medium rare!!

 

 

While waiting prepared the rest of the dinner.  Chatted with family and friends.  Enjoyed the time together!

 

 
 When the prime rib was finished I let it stand for about 30 minutes, while it kept cooking inside.

Then we enjoyed the feast!!!
