Lost Coast Designs Wing Challenge

I have been wanting to enter this challenge the last two weeks and I am down to the wire.... just hours to spare. This Lost Coast Designs silhouette of the ballerina has always been a favorite of mine.

She was stamped with Oxide Ink Festive Berries, then heat embossed with clear powder. Then Distress Oxide Gathered Twigs was gently rubbed over the stamped image to tone down the color a bit.  She is still pretty bright.  Then she was fussy cut. 

The background pattern paper and green strip are from scraps in my stash. The wings are recycled from some packaging and the mushrooms are from Tim Holtz Field Notes.

Lost Coast Designs ATC Challenge Georgia O'keeffe

I love creating ATCs... a small piece of art.  Today I received my Georgia O'Keeffe stamp from Lost Coast Designs for participating and winning in their January challenge. 

Georgia O'Keeffe has always been one of my favorite artists many of us know her for her southwest themed painting and larger than live flowers.  Did you know in 1939 she was commissioned by a Hawaiian pineapple company to paint promotional images.  She did 20 painting for the company. They are wonderful images of Hawaiian exotic flowers, beaches and waterfalls. I was overjoyed to see the exhibit in Hawaii while I lived there. 

One of my favorite subjects of Georgia O'Keeffe is her poppy paintings.  To honor that I found a vintage postcard with poppies. 

I stamped the image of Georgia O'Keeffe with VersaFine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. 

In my thousands of stamps I had a quote from Georgia O'Keeffe, " A flower touches everyone's heart." It was stamped at the top of the ATC. 

I am pleased how the poppies and leaves come through from the back of the image.

Lost Coast Designs ATC Challenge

I love ATC's - for this ATC I used Lost Coast Designs Frida 1 stamp. The stamp is much bigger than an ATC 3 1/2 x 2 1/2.  I only ink the part of the stamp that I wanted to appear on the ATC. 

This is stamped on a textured paper that give it the appearance of a canvas. Frida is colored with Oxide Inks.  I then cut out a mask and sprayed the back ground with Art Anthology Colorations - Timeless and Siesta Key.

ATCs traded with Artists in the Relics & Artifacts Tribe

I traded ATCs with five other artists on Facebook in the Relics & Artifacts Tribe.  We had to use stamps from Relics & Artifacts.  This stamp "Epiphany" is one of my favorites from the many available at SandraEvertson.com

Epiphany

I stamped my images on parchment paper with VersaFine Black ink. Then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Looking back I should have used Stazon ink. 

The parchment paper images were then painted with Oxide Inks and a water brush. The white background card base was sprayed with Art Anthology Colorations Spray - Timeless, Siesta Key and Patience.

The parchment was adhered to the card base. Dresden trim was added the card. A paper flower was the final embelishment to Frida's hair. 

I love how each of my ATCs turned out a bit different.

Lost Coast Designs ATC Challenge!

 I love my stamps and do not get to use them enough these days.  On this ATC I used Lost Coast Designs: " A Murder of Crows" and 3 Mini Birds (1.5 inches)

The center crow was stamped, embossed with clear embossing powder and masked. Then the other two crows were stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder.

The background sky is Art Anthology Colorations Spray - Siesta Key. The ground is Oxide Ink Gathered Twigs.
