Lost Coast Designs - Christmas in July Challenge

This month Lost Coast Designs is looking for any Christmas project using stamped designs for their Christmas in July Challenge!  I have a few of their Gnome stamps and decided to use them.

Today, I used the new Lost Coast Designs Redneck Gnome stamp and  the Medium Shrubbery Background!

The Redneck Gnome image was stamped with VersaFine Black. The Medium Shrubbery is stamped with various colors of green Oxide Inks. The Redneck Gnome was colored with COPICs. Happy Holidays stamp is from Rubber Soul.

LOST COAST DESIGNS - Off the Edge Challenge

Over at Lost Coast they want to see our stamped images off the edge of our project.... 

I have a set of four ATC's of FLYING MONKEYS

they are flying all over the place!!!!

The Carmen Veranda Flying Monkey was stamped first, then masked and then the background was stamped with the Carmen Veranda Flying Monkeys.

With the mask over the large Flying Monkeys, Art Anthology Colorations Plush and Siesta Key were sprayed. Then a bit of Oxide Ink 0 Frayed Corduroy was added in spots!

Lost Coast Designs Background Forward Challenge

This is a special challenge the first half of the month... Background stamps are the focus of the project.  A sentiment and or embellishments can be added, but the background stamp must be the star of the show!

Three ATCs same paper, different inks!

This a  another surprise background stamp ATC SHRUBBERY!  Lost Coast Designs ATC Shrubbery is  versatile.  It can be a background or looks great on it'w own.  I was plying with the stamp and layering a lot of color with Oxide Inks!

Lost Coast Designs Background Forward Challenge

This is a special challenge the first half of the month... Background stamps are the focus of the project.  A sentiment and or embellishments can be added, but the background stamp must be the star of the show!

I did not realize this stamp  of the Lost Coast Designs GRUNGE TREE is considered a background image until I was on the website looking at stamps.  I have been wanting the flying monkeys and was searching for it when I stumbled on a few stamps I own that are considered backgrounds! 

I only used half of the sentiment from Carmen's Veranda:

When witches go riding 

And black cats are seen  

The moon laughs and whispers

'Tis near Halloween

The sentiment is mounted on dimensional foam.

This is one of the Lost Coast Designs Cats from the Party Cat Set found HERE! Stamped on watercolor paper with VersaFine Black. Background Art Anthology Colorations Spray: Patience. The Cat is painted with Art Anthology Colorations Spray: Patience is the background.  Distress Oxide the cat.  A little washi tape on the side and "Celebrate" stamp.

Lost Coast Designs - East meets West Challenge

When working what to do for this challenge I had to think out side of the box to come up with an EAST meets WEST using Lost Coast Designs stamps.  It dawned on me that Georgia O'Keeffe had lived in New York (EAST) and New Mexico (WEST).  I also knew she had been to Hawaii in the late 1930's.  

She is famous for her BIG flowers and her WESTERN themes paintings, but did you know she also painted the Skyscrapers of New York when she lived there.  In 1938 she was commissioned to do two paintings for the Hawaiian Pineapple Company, now Dole Food Company.  She spent nine weeks in the Hawaiian islands.  She completed 20 paintings after her visit.  I was fortunate enough to be in Hawaii when there was an exhibit of her Hawaiian paintings at the Honolulu Art Museum.

Here is my interpretation of EAST meets WEST! An ATC, a small work of compared to a Georgia O'Keeffe work of art! 

I stamped the Carmen's Veranda image of Georgia O'Keeffe on with photo paper with VersaMark and colored her with Copics.  I then sprayed  white card stock with Art Anthology Colorations: Patience and Timeless.  Then stamped the Medium Shrubbery (Lost Coast Designs) with Distress Oxide Peeled Paint.

Lost Coast Designs Challenge - Tree

My third entry in the first challenge for the month of May.  It is a color challenge!  The colors are Terracotta, Turquoise, Black and White.  I first played with paint on my Geli Plate and set them aside a couple of days to dry.  Then I was ready to play. 

I used one of the panels I painted with a Tree Background  stamp from Lost Coast Designs found HERE!  It was stamped with VersFine Black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Lost Coast Designs Challenge - Frida

The first challenge for the month of May is the first color challenge I am participating in.  The colors are Terracotta, Turquoise, Black and White.  I first played with paint on my Geli Plate and set them aside a couple of days to dry.  Then I was ready to play.
