IN HONOR OF EARTH DAY

Hello, I am here with a few ATCs honoring Earth Day on April 22. To honor the day I created three ATCs of trees, using twine as the base of the trees.

Art Anthology Supplies used:
Velvet Dimensional Paints: Desire, Marigold and Gecko
Shine Dimensional Paints: Ruby, Onyx and Cocoa
Sorbet Dimensional Paints: Guava, Sea Serpent and Blueberry
Texture Sets: Patina - Teal Velvet
Stone Effects Dimensional Medium: Sandstone
Wax Paste: Antique Gold
Craft Matt and Palette Tool

Other Supplies:
ATC boards
White Gesso
Paint Brushes
Water
Glue
Paper Towel
Heat tool
Twine
Wood birds

First, I cut the twine into workable lengths and glued them to the ATCs board. I used a thick ATC board since I was going to be using a lot of glue, gesso and paint, the board would hold up to the liquid in the supplies I am painting with.

Once the glue was dry I covered the ATCs with two coats of gesso, letting it dry between coats. Use a heat tool to speed up the drying time.

I first added the Stone Effects Dimensional Medium: Sandstone along the bottom of each ATC. Then painted the trees with Shine Dimensional Paints: Cocoa. Finally, I painted the scene/backgrounds with all the awesome Art Anthology Dimensional Paints listed in the supplies above. I let paints dry before adding another color if I did not want them to blend.

To finish the ATCs, wooden birds were painted and adhered with glue and Wax Paste: Antique Gold was applied to the edges to frame the ATCs.

Hope this has inspired you to create a project honoring Earth Day! Please share your Art Anthology projects with us in our Face Book Group “Art Anthology Adventures in Art“. THANKS FOR STOPPING BY! Have a great CREATIVE DAY! Until next time!

Art Anthology - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAG

Need something to embellish your gifts all year long, make a few tags to have on hand!

Art Anthology Supplies used: Grunge Paste
Coloration Sprays: Granny Smith, Siesta Key and Pulse
Stencil Diamond Grunge
Green German glass glitter
Wax Paste: Violet and White
Craft Matt and Palette Tool

Other Supplies:
Watercolor paper/tag
Chipboard letters
White paper flowers
White Gesso
Tulle
Glue
Heat tool

On the Craft Mat apply Grunge Paste with Pallet Tool using the Stencil Diamond Grunge on the Watercolor Tag, let dry. To speed drying use a heat gun.

Once the Grunge Paste is dry, spray with Colorations Sprays: Plush, Siesta Key and Granny Smith. Dry between colors using a heat tool. If you do not dry before spraying the next, colors will muddy.

Apply Violet Wax Paste around the edges and White Wax Paste on all of raised dry Grunge Paste.

Spray the bare chipboard letters with Colorations Plush. The chipboard just soaks up the color.

Spritz the paper flowers with water, then spray with the Colorations Pulse. Until the desired color is achieved. remove excess color by applying more water. Dry the letters and flowers!

Glue the letters to the tag. Apply White Wax Paste lightly to the letter.

Cut three 2 inch pieces of the tulle, use a thin piece of tulle to tie in the center of each piece. Using a heat tool slightly burn the edges.

Using glue adhere the tulle and paper flowers to the tag. as pictured. Spatter card with watered down gesso. Adhere spots of bling using glue and the Green German Glass Glitter!

Need something to spruce up a gift… take a plain paper brown bag and make it a gift bag.

I hope this has inspired you to create!

Until next time this is Lyneen signing off.

Relics & Artifacts Christmas Card Swap

Hopefully all the swap recipients have received my card by now.

For my card I used the Earth stamp created by Sandra Evertson.  It was stamped on tissue, then painted with Coloration Sprays from Art Anthology.  The base is watercolor paper painted yellow and then pink rays.  When the tissue was dry it was glued to the watercolor paper.   Dresden Daisy Chain was cut apart and adhered to the tree.  Last gold foil wings and a heart finished the card.

Art Anthology Design Team Project - December

This is my first post as a member of this amazing Art Anthology Design Team. Mixed media is where my heart is when it comes to creating, but if you follow me you will see I dabble in other mediums as well.

In this post I am sharing a couple of wooden tags created with a Art Anthology stencil, glass and waxes.

Products used:
Industrial Stencil
Art Anthology Paste Wax – Silver and Antique Gold
Art Anthology Minx Shimmering Ink – Indulgence
Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Paint – Glass
Red German Glass Glitter
Art Anthology Craft Mat
Palette Tool
Wooden Tags
Gesso Black & White
Straws (pained with black gesso)
Cloth or paper flower
Spray bottle of water
Glue

Paint the wooden tags with white gesso and dry. Using the Art Anthology Industrial stencil randomly apply Sorbet Dimensional Glass to the tag and dry.

Dimensional Glass is dry, rub Art Anthology Antique Gold Wax desired over the entire tag. Rub Antique Gold and Silver Wax on the straws – rubbing the waxed straws with a cloth will give them shiny finish. Adhere the straws to the tag with glue.

Spritz flower lightly with water, shake the Minx Shimmering Ink – Indulgence, apply to the flower petals with the eye dropper. After the flower dries apply glue to the edges of the petals, then add the German glass glitter, remove the excess glitter and dry. Adhere to the tag once totally dry!

Add twine or ribbon and you have a tag for a gift. Finish the back and it could be a tree ornament.

Additional supplies to complete this tag: twine and wooden snowflakes.

Rub Art Anthology Antique Gold & Silver Waxes desired over the entire tag. Wrap twine around the wooden tag and adhere with glue.

Rub Antique Gold Wax on the small snow flake and the and Silver Wax on the large snowflake, layer and adhere them the to the tag.

That is it for now! Hope you have been inspired to create something today!

Been preparing for our Thanksgiving feast since last night. I always serve my mother's fresh cranberry salad.

Turkey is in the oven!

I have always wanted to make a Thanksgiving Turkey with feathers, like when I was in grade school, not one made with my hand!!!  Art Anthology Coloration Sprays were used for the feathers, body beak and feet.  Velvet Dimensional Paint - Desire was used for a beautiful red wattle. The feathers are cut with an Elizabeth Craft Designs die!.

Art Anthology Colorations Timeless, Granny Smith, Juicy, Patience and Sedona.  The sprays are vibrant!

Spraying Colorations on paper creates a spray/splattered pictured on the left.  I was after a full coverage look, while the spray was still wet I smeared it with my fingers, see results on the right!
