Tutorial for Blank Page Muse Gift Bag Tag

This time of year, finds everyone with long TO DO lists and not enough time to do it all. Need a gift bag in a pinch? Are you too busy to run to the store? Use your Blank Page Muse stamps to make beautiful tags for your gift bags! Here is a brown bag dressed up with the Silhouette Style Children Ice Skating Winter Art Rubber Stamp

Blank Page Muse Stamps Used
Silhouette Style Children Ice Skating Winter Art Rubber Stamp
Season's Greetings Word Phrase Rubber Stamp SC39-11

Other supplies:
Watercolor Paper
Mica Watercolor Paints
Water brush

Black Versafine Ink
Clear Embossing Powder
Heat tool
Aall & Create tag die
Ribbon
Crystal Gems
Brown paper bag

To make the tag, stamp the skating image and "Season's Greetings" with Black Versafine Ink and Clear Embossing Powder on watercolor paper, use a Heat tool set the powder.

With a water brush paint the ice (light blue) and the background (white). The mica paints will have a beautiful shine when the tag is moved. Let the paints dry.  I don't use a heat to dry the watercolors as it may affect the embossed ink image.

Die cut the watercolored stamped image and the teal paper tag. Adhere the image on the tag. Cut a mat from the teal paper for "Season's Greetings".  Mount the sentiment with dimensional foam.

Add ribbons and embellish with gems!!!  Now you are ready to dress up any bag, even a brown bag!!!  Don' wait until the last minute, have a few on hand JUST IN CASE!

Relics & Artifacts Stamp-a-Day Challenge - DAY 22

I have taken the Relics & Artifacts Stamp-a-Day March Challenge

Here is my March 22nd make:

Today I am upcycling another one of my white stamped bags that come in one of my orders. The Otomi art stamp was stamp on this bag.

I have a large tag that I stamped with the CUPULA ArtFoamie with teal acrylic paint. Then I painted the outside of the Copula with a light pink acrylic plaint and dotted each of the scallops with pink. I let the tag dry over night. The bricks are stenciled with a light brown ink. The rest of the tag is filled in with pink, blue and green alcohol markers. I fussy cut the art stamp image of Otomi and painted her with watercolors. Adhered her to the tag. In the upper part of the Copula I stamped MUSE.

The images used from Sandra Evertson's collection are found HERE!

Art Venture by Gather

During the month of February I participated in an amazing venture lead by Elena Etcheverry.   We had a choice of three, six or twelve classes with some of the most amazing artists.

Alisa Burke
CeCe Hunt
Jaya Raghuvanshi
Frank Garcia
Mark Montano
Chelsea Evans
Anna Dabrowska AKA Finnabair (2 classes)
Danita Art - Idania Salcido
Jen Cushman
Melody Ross
Katja MezzaNotte

We have live online instruction, access to the recorded video forever and most amazing the artists will be doing an encore class!  Yes, if we missed the first time we can watch live during encore.

I opted for the twelve classes, life got in the way of three of them which I will be taking during encore.

The beauty of Art Venture is... anyone can still register for the first time and receive the supplies  to participate during encore.  LEARN MORE HERE AT Gather!

****************************

My first class was Watercolor Florals with Alisa Burke.  I never painted much with watercolors.  I just dabbled here and there!

My first finished Watercolor Florals

Before we started we tested our colors on the paper we were using.

Played with our brushes and paint

Made "blops" that finally became my flowers!

Relics & Artifacts Christmas Card Swap

Hopefully all the swap recipients have received my card by now.

For my card I used the Earth stamp created by Sandra Evertson.  It was stamped on tissue, then painted with Coloration Sprays from Art Anthology.  The base is watercolor paper painted yellow and then pink rays.  When the tissue was dry it was glued to the watercolor paper.   Dresden Daisy Chain was cut apart and adhered to the tree.  Last gold foil wings and a heart finished the card.

Testing watercolor paper, stamping and painting... test complete used VersaMark Ink, SandraEvertson.com stamps... Oxide Inks, Art Anthology Colorations, ECD Watercolors. Masking, spraying, and painting. Results: the ink did not bleed. Now to start my project!

Lost Coast Designs Grunge Tree & Gelatos

I love stamping... funny I don't do enough of it these days... I am really enjoying this month working with Altered Pages partner Lost Coast Designs!!!

Today I want to share a technique I LOVE to do.  You never know what the outcome will be, which makes the surprise ending such a treat in itself!
I am using the unmounted Grunge Tree from  Lost Coast Designs stamps. It is a background stamp, measuring 4 x 5 1/4. Today I am using as my focal stamp.

Supplies
Lost Coast Designs Stamp
Acrylic Block
Double Sided Tape
Waterbrush
Gelatos - assorted colors
Black ink
Watercolor Paper
Water

To start wet a piece of watercolor paper using a Waterbrush.

While the water is still wet scribble as pictured above with Gelatos, use the Waterbrush to blend them as desired.  Let dry!

When the paper is dry you are ready to stamp.  Mount the Grunge Tree from  Lost Coast Designs stamp on an Acrylic Block with Double Sided Tape.  Gently ink the stamp on the raised areas!

With the inked stamp on the table, take the paper to the stamp.  Carefully burnish with your hand.

Remove the card from the inked image. The Gelatos create a beautiful background for the Lost Coast Designs Grunge Tree!

The detail of the rubber is phenomenal, all the intricate branches.
