Tutorial for Blank Page Muse Gift Bag Tag

This time of year, finds everyone with long TO DO lists and not enough time to do it all. Need a gift bag in a pinch? Are you too busy to run to the store? Use your Blank Page Muse stamps to make beautiful tags for your gift bags! Here is a brown bag dressed up with the Silhouette Style Children Ice Skating Winter Art Rubber Stamp

Season's Greetings Word Phrase Rubber Stamp SC39-11

Other supplies:

Watercolor Paper

Mica Watercolor Paints

Water brush

Black Versafine Ink

Clear Embossing Powder

Heat tool

Aall & Create tag die

Ribbon 

Crystal Gems

Brown paper bag

To make the tag, stamp the skating image and "Season's Greetings" with Black Versafine Ink and Clear Embossing Powder on watercolor paper, use a Heat tool set the powder. 

With a water brush paint the ice (light blue) and the background (white). The mica paints will have a beautiful shine when the tag is moved. Let the paints dry.  I don't use a heat to dry the watercolors as it may affect the embossed ink image. 

Die cut the watercolored stamped image and the teal paper tag. Adhere the image on the tag. Cut a mat from the teal paper for "Season's Greetings".  Mount the sentiment with dimensional foam. 

Add ribbons and embellish with gems!!!  Now you are ready to dress up any bag, even a brown bag!!!  Don' wait until the last minute, have a few on hand JUST IN CASE!

My Eileen Hull Comfort & Joy Project

I was a little late to the Eileen Hull Designs Comfort & Joy party. I did make a project I was inspired by Jenny Marples wreaths. I intend to use these to embellish some of my Christmas gift bags! They were fun and easy. I did a lot of die cutting and then sit in front of the tv during the evening and put them together.

I used the following Eileen Hull dies:
666474 Envelope Folder and Flowers (leaf0
665326 Wreath & Snowflake (Wreath, bow, leaves, bird & star)
666533 Everyday tags & Labels (Flowers)

If you do not have the dies listed, go through what dies you do have and see what you could use to substitute for the wreath and other parts. 

Blank Page Muse - Color me Perfect Gift Bag

Here is a DIY gift bag idea.  I rarely buy beautiful gift bags.  I pick up bags at the dollar store and decorate them with papers, tags and ribbons.  

Today I have a bag using the Color Me Perfect Art Doll stamp collection and Bedazzled Diamonds Stencil, both created by Pam Bray.

Other supplies:

• Tag
• Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Evergreen Bough and Mermaid Lagoon
• Cosmic Shimmers Air Mister
• Teal Harmony
• Gold Rush
• Watercolor paper
• Stazon Ink
• ArtAlchemy Wax Sage
• Bag
• Ribbons

Create a background paper.  Spray watercolor paper with Cosmic Shimmers Air Misters: Teal Harmony and Gold Rush, let dry. 

When the sprays have dried randomly apply ArtAlchemy Wax Sage using the Bedazzled Diamonds Stencil.  

Then randomly stamp diamonds from the Color Me Perfect Art Doll set with Stazon ink.  Attach the paper to the paper bag. 

Prepare tag by applying Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Evergreen Bough and Mermaid Lagoon as pictured above, blending in the center.  Stamp the Color Me Perfect Art Doll on the tag with Stazon ink.  With the mesh stamp from the Color Me Perfect Art Doll collection randomly stamp the edges of the tag. 

Add scalloped ribbon to the bottom of the tag.  Add ribbons to the tag.  Write message on the back of the tag.  Tie the tag to the handles of the bag.

Housewarming Gift Bag!!!

This week I was in need of gift wrap for a housewarming gift!  Today I am sharing the bag I created for my gift.  I cannot share what is inside because the person receiving it is a member of the Altered Pages Facebook Group!

 

 

I wanted it to look like a house... the blue pattern paper topper is the scalloped edged roof and the pink paper is similar to a wall paper!  Papers are from The Robin's Nest!

 

With the bag flat adhere the pink pattern paper using a glue stick.  Arrange items you would like to embellish your bag:

Gold Opulence Stickers (clock and "Time to Celebrate"), KaiserCraft Embellishment Bingo Card Pack,  and Glitz Whatnots ~ Yours Truly (frame and queen with heart staff)

Using tacky glue attach the Petaloo Flowers.

 

 Fold the blue paper at 8 inches, measure the width needed to fit over the handles of the bag.  Cut a slit 2 inches longer than your measurement and an inch wide. Be sure your gift is in the bag before putting the topper on.

 

 

To make the Specialty Tag ink edges with Gold Delicata Ink, heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder. Cut computer written words, ink edges and adhere to card with glue stick.

The bag needed a BIG bow... TULLE was perfect to top off the bag! Tie the tag on the handle of the bag with a strip of tulle.

Brown Paper Bag Gift Bags!!!!

I have been known to use any paper bag with a ribbon in a pinch.... I love altering brown paper bags... you can spruce up any size bag.  Here are a couple of ideas! 

Recently I shared these sweet bags on the Altered Pages blog... Both have already been used for gifts and the recipients loved them! 

 

 

 

You could use these for party favors or gift giving depending on the size bags you use!  Today I am using brown lunch bags.

 

 

 

Cut pattern paper for base from Glitz 8x8 Pattern Cardstock Shine in My Soul to fit bag, ink edges.  Cut second piece t be the banner, ink edges.  Adhere to paper bag with Double stick tape.

 

 

 

For the first bag, cut image from Altered Pages Collage Sheet Pets on Parade ink edges and adhere to bag with Glue Stick.

 

For the second bag cut image from Altered Pages Collage Sheet Drive me Anywhere but Here ink edges and adhere to bag with Glue Stick.

 

Mist the white doily with desired colors, the intention here was to look a bit distressed.

 

 

 The first bag,  "Pets on Parade" is topped with a yellow doily folded in half, two holes punched through the bag and doily, then the tulle is pulled through the holes and a nice big bow is tied.

 

 

 

"Drive me Anywhere but Here" is topped with the doily (folded in half) that has been sprayed with mist.  Two holes punched through the bag and doily, then the sheer ribbon is pulled through the holes and a nice bow is tied.  I think this would be a perfect bag to put some chocolate for a friend!!!

You could add flowers, dew drops, chipboard, buttons and more... let your creative mind work magic!
