Vintage images make the best cards,

yours is so wonderfully artfully embellished,

I just love it. Lovely blog as well, yay blog hop! and yay, OWH!

THANKS EVERYONE FOR HOPPING ALONG!

Glad to see you on ANOTHER AMAZING Operation Write Home Bloghop, there are over 80 stops on the hop as of this writing!  Lots to see...  If you've arrived here from Lora's Stamps, welcome... if not, you might want to start at  Operation Write Home to see all the great blogs!

On a light blue card I stamped a background image with VersaMark and embossed with opaque embossing powder. I copied one of my vintage postcards.  Using my Xyron I attached Dresden Trim around the edge of the picture, then attached the image to the card.  Final embellishment is a piece of ribbon knotted and attached with a glue dot!  HAPPY EASTER!

It doesn’t seem like much sending a card for someone to write home... then you haven’t read the OWH website.  THEY LOVE OUR CARDS in Iraq and Afghanistan!  More are being requested all the time. April 1 is the deadline to mail Mother's Day cards to OWH.

Did I hear Blog Candy... OF course you did, I love giving things away...  leave a comment on this post for a chance to win the paper pack below.  I will have a random draw on Saturday, March, 27th.  That should give everyone plenty of time to get through the hop!  If you are NOT a blogger, please provide your email address like this: name at server dot com and then I can contact you if you win!

Be sure to leave your comment and then hop on over to Dreaming on Creating blog! I've been checking out her blog and love her digital cards. Click here to keep hopping to Dreaming on Creating!

Tomorrow is the Operation Write Home Spring Break Blog Hop. There will be over 80 blogs to hop around on!! And, there will be lots of pretty cards to look at . The theme is springy thinking -of - you cards. Hope to hop along with you!!

Valentines for OWH!

I am very fortunate to live in the same part of the world as Sandy, the woman behind Operation Write Home.  She and two other shippers organize all the cards made by people like you and me to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sandy was gracious enough to invite me over for a day of card making.  You would be amazed how organized she is with all the boxes of cards she has ready for shipping.

Not sure I was as productive as I can be at home.  I was glued to the "nesties" most of the time I was there.  I made a cello bag full to play with later.  Her Copics were my next favorite product to play with.  I have a few.  Now I can see why you need so many to get the awesome outcome to coloring with them. We had a great time chatting and stamping.  The five hours passed way too fast for me.

Sandy and Me

Below are some of the cards I have made for Operation Write Home (OWH).   The deadline to get your cards mailed is January 6th.  This allows the shippers time to count and pack to mail to Iraq and Afghanistan.

The dog is Poppy Stamps, love and heart are Rubber Soul.

The typewriter is one of the NEW Rubber Soul Valentine stamps!

the little hearts are Rubber Soul also.

As you can see you can make the same card several times or slight variations.  They are sent to many destinations when the shippers mail them out.
