31 Days of Halloween - Day 10

Welcome
to Lyneen's Day 10 of the
Smeared and Smudged
31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop!
Luminaries for Halloween
During the month of October I am participating in a month-long blog hop with some amazing artists.  Everyday you will find a new Halloween project on all of the blogs listed below.  Each project must have stamping on it, be it digi or ink. There are prizes to win, be sure to check out all the rules HERE and information. There is a daily scavenger hunt, you must go HERE to find the clue/s for the item/s you are looking for in the scavenger hunt.  To find the previous day winners go HERE.  Have fun and Good Luck!

Now for my "SIMPLE" project - At night my neighborhood is sort of dark! On Halloween night when all the ghosts and goblins are "Trick Or Treating" I like line my drive way with paper bag luminaries to help guide them up the walkway.  Me, I can't have just any old bag... they need to be fun.  This year I decided to use my Dylusion stamps and create some nice and some spooky.

Pictured are four of the ten that will be lining the walkway.  You can draw them free hand or stamp them.  This is a great project to involve children!

Use white bags, spritz them on the side without the seam,  set them aside to dry.  Once dry you can stamp (or draw) on the bags.   This year I added a little bit of color to them with my distress Markers.

I like to leave these simple just the stamping and a little color so the light will shine through! These would be great for any holiday party!

Supplies:
Dylusion Stamps from Altered Pages
Dylusion Spray Mist - Orange
White Paper bags
Tim Holtz Distress Markers
Battery operated Tea Lights.

Here they are pictured using a flash, you can see their true colors.  I like them better in the dark!!!

If you are following the blog roll

your next stop will be WENDY!

VLVS! All Hallow's Eve Party BLog Hop ~ Luminaries

Welcome to DAY TWO of the Viva Las Vegastamps! All Hallow's Eve Party Blog Hop.

Every year I decorate my yard for all the ghost and goblins that come "Trick or Treating".  I live on a very dark street and it is easy to make it look really spooky.  To help everyone make to the door, I line the walk with paper bag luminaries with battery operated tea lights.  These would be great way to greet guest for a Halloween party.  Using Viva Las Vegastamps! create one of a kind luminaries for your Halloween party.  These are easy to do, even your children could help!

All of the images are from Viva Las Vegastamps! and stamped with black ink on white paper bags (lunch size).  Note: Inks may run a little; paper bags are not made of quality paper. The VLVS! Tree Background stamp was used on all bags, stamping it off the edge of the bags.

After stamping the images the Full Moon and Skeleton Flashing was colored with Tim Holtz Distress Markers. Additional stamps: happy haunting, Flock of Bats, Spiked Fence, Cemetery and Tree Background.

I love how they look with the tea light inside. Stamps:Flock of Bats,Full MoonSpiked FenceCemetery, Oct. 31, Ghost (stamped 3 times), Haunted House, Skeleton in Long Coat and Tree Background.
Poison
Can't wait until Halloween when I will use these.  Stamps:Poison, Skull and CrossbonesR.I.P. and Jack o'Lantern, Pasteurs Death Potion, Giant head Skeleton and Tree Background
At twilight I attempted to take pictures. The first picture here gives you an idea of what they look like, but the flash washed out the effect of the tea lights.  The second is taken without a flash and a bit blurry, but you get the idea of what the walk looks like.

Your challenge today from Viva Las Vegastamps! is to create a brand new VLVS! inspired Halloween project and link up!  Use the ideas from the Design Team or come up with your own.  Deadline: Friday the 28th of Sept at midnight!!! MORE INFORMATION HERE!

You will want to visit all the sites on the top of my sidebar.  Please leave comments as you visit each one.  We all appreciate hearing from you!  Plus we will be drawing a winner from all he comments posted!!!  Remember to come back each day this week as there is something new happening each day!
