FaveCrafts Best Blogger Craft Event - MD hobby & craft

I was honored to be invited to the CHA Blogger Networking Party

In my swag from the CHA Blogger Networking Party I received MD craft & Hobby Chicken Wire and MD Metal Working Gloves!

Wearing my MD Metal Working Gloves and wire cutters I cut a bout 20 inches off the roll of MD craft & Hobby Chicken Wire. On the roll it is folded in half, I didn't unfold it until it was cut. The square of MD craft & Hobby Chicken Wire was about twice the size of my finished nest, 9 inches round.

Still wearing my MD Metal Working Gloves I rolled the edges of the MD craft & Hobby Chicken Wire to form the nest.

Once I was happy with the nest I started adding fibers: ribbons, twine, yarn, gold string beads, rickrack and any other scrap fiber.

Birds take advantage of what is available... any scrap of fiber was game for this project!  The brighter the better!!!

Fill with eggs!!
What a great Easter dinner centerpiece.

THANKS MD hobby & craft!!

FaveCrafts Best Blogger Craft Event - LittleB

I was honored to be invited to the CHA Blogger Networking Party

In my swag from the CHA Blogger Networking Party I received an amazing amount of product!!! LittleB sent Pull Flowers, Stickers and Decorative Note Pads.

Make one yellow flower with the LittleB Pull Flowers  - follow directions on box... so easy!!!  Just pull string and TIE!

To start spray paint the dress form black.  Use tissue paper to fashion a pattern (bodice and skirt), using the tissue cut the starched cheese cloth and attach to the dress form with glue gun.  Add lace to the bottom of the cheese cloth with glue gun... careful not to burn your fingers!

Pull the string from the red, yellow and pink LittleB Pull Flowers and iron.

Supplies:
Metal Dress Form
Tissue
Starched Chees Cloth
Lace
Gold Leaf
Glue Gun

Attach the pink top row to the cheese cloth, creating pleats to cover the top.

From the bottom up attach alternating rows of Pull Flowers.

Add yellow pull flower with gold leaf to the top of the dress form with hot glue, add LittleB Butterfly stickers.

Boa is optional!!!

THANKS LittleB!!

FaveCrafts Best Blogger Craft Event - Yarnspirations!

I was honored to be invited to the CHA Blogger Networking Party

In my swag from the CHA Blogger Networking Party I received this skein of Bernat Mega Bulky Yarn from Yarnspirations

All my life I have been intimidated by knitting needles!!! Never ever have I knitted anything in my life... the yarn was a challenge!

I had heard about knitting with your hands, so I looked up how-to!

This is what I did...

Tie tail around the thumb. Go behind the index finger, under the back of your middle finger, over your ring finger, and under your pinky. Wrap around the back of hand and in front (palm). Start the Weave---Pull the first wrap over the second wrap and over the pinky, repeat on the ring finger, repeat on the middle finger, and the index finger. Wrap around the back of hand and in front (palm). Then repeat the weave until you have desired link. Finish by taking the loop from pinky, and put it on ring finger. Pull the bottom loop up from ring finger and over to the back of hand. The loop from the middle finger and put in on the index finger. Finally, remove the index finger do not let go of the loop. Cut the end of the yarn at about six inches, put it through the loop and tie off. Tie the ends together and weave the tails in the scarf!

Two hours and eight feet later I had an infinity scarf!!!!

I love how the bulky yarn looks in this scarf!

If you missed YARNIA... see my post HERE!!!

THANK YOU Yarnspirations!

A Gift Box in a Pinch!

Yesterday I was going to a birthday luncheon for a couple of friends.  I had the gifts, just needed to wrap them in under an hour! Nothing like waiting until the last minute!!!!

I couldn't find a cute little box for one of my small gifts.

Then I remembered, I had received the Martha Stewart "gift box tool" in my swag from the CHA Blogger Networking Party.   It came in a package of gifts from Simplicity!

I had never used the "gift box tool" before... in under ten minutes I had cut, assembled and wrapped my gift with a bow.
The tool has cutters for 3 sizes of pillow boxes. The blades are stored safely on the underside of the small cutter.  The instructions were easy to follow.   I did my cutting on a cutting mat (not included).

You can place the tool on cardstock of you choice to get a decorative box to your liking.

Use two sided tape on the flap, fold the box and wrap with ribbon... you are ready to go with the perfect gift in under ten minutes!

The recipient of the gift was impressed with this special gift box.
She didn't want to untie the ribbon!

Can you imagine if I had time to embellish the box!

THANK YOU Simplicity!
