Blank Page Muse - Just a Note

I love vintage and distressed cards, with layers... a lot of layers!  How about you?  For this card I created the vintage background paper with Blank Page Muse stamps. 

For this card I used the following from Blank Page Muse:

Vintage style Postcards background Art Rubber StampsTTS114-01 

Correspondence Pens, Ink & Postage Art Rubber Stamp Sheet by Katy Leitch SCKTL-
001 (Stamps, Pens, Script background)

Other supplies
Velum
Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink or other brown ink
Stazon Black ink
Assorted Papers
Just A Note die Creative Expressions
Distress Tool
Dimensional Foam
Ink blending tool

All images were stamped with Stazon ink. 

Stamp postage images on random scraps of paper and fussy cut.  Ink the edges with a brown ink. 

Stamp the pen nibs on to velum.

Stamp the postcard on pattern paper, choose paper with a faint or light pattern or color. Tear around the stamped mage. Ink the edges with a brown ink. 

On the background mat, 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches, randomly stamp partial images of the Handwriting image. Fold back the upper right corner and crease as pictured in the finished card.  Ink the edges with a brown ink. 

Stamp a second piece of coordinating paper, 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches, with the Handwriting image in the upper right corner. Ink the edges with a brown ink.


To assemble the card.

• Attach the coordinating patten paper stamped in the corner to the card base first.

• Adhere the background with the folder back upper right corner on the card base.
• Attach the postcard as pictured.
• Tuck one stamped image behind the postcard as pictured.
• Attach the vellum to the card.
• Attach remaining stamp, use dimensional foam attach a couple of them.
• With dimensional foam attach "Just a Note."

 A card for Relatively thoughtful using the digital Ladies & Gents collection.  

Image of the lady and flowers are fuzzy cut from the Ladies & Gents collection.  The background paper and ping die cut fringe of the fan are also from the collection. The main part of the was die cut from gold foil paper.

Ladies & Gents - Relatively Thoughtful Design Team Project

 My design team project using the awesome "Ladies & Gents" digital paper collection is a set of ATCs.

The images of the ladies and flowers are fussy cut from the "Ladies & Gents" paper collection. The background papers are also from the collection. 

The background of the ATCs were stenciled with butter paste, pink washi tap was added to the left side. A white doily was distressed with Tim Holtz Oxide Brushed Corduroy.  The words are from a pad of sentiments in my stash. A little bling was the final touch.

Gatsby - Relatively Thoughtful Design Team Post

 My Design team project using the Gatsby digital collection. 

Images of the dances and music have been fussy cut from the "Gatsby" Collection. The background paper is also from the collection. The background was light spritzed with a shimmer spray. Gold paper was die cut for the flourish behind the dancers. The floral sprig of flowers are from Little Birdie.  A little bling was added for sparkle.

Vintage Postcard - Swans

I could not pass up this postcard.  The swans are so beautiful.

Chillon Castle is built on an island in Lake Geneva. The earliest written history of the castle is 1150.  Today the castle is open for tours. 

Postcards from the Past!

I love vintage postcards and have an ever expanding collection. When I see postcards of swans I have to buy them!  They are gentle reminders of my mom who passed away over five years ago!  She loved swans.  Here is a beauty mailed in 1917, over one hundred years ago. 

Mailed Feb 1917 to Mr. Bernard Elbus(sp) or Mt. Sterling Ill.

I found this awesome postcard today... mailed in 1910!

Buster who lived in Eureka Nebraska mailed this postcard 

to his Aunt Sarah in Brewster Nebraska, just 46 miles away.

He wrote: Hello Aunt Sarah How are you. We are all well. Buster

Summer at Coney Island!

Summer is here!  

It is time to think about visiting amusement parks!!!

Coney Island NY amusement parks were in existence since the early 1800's.  Between 1880 and WWII it was the largest amusement park in the United States.  The first roller coaster was built there in 1884. Over the years it's popularity has declined and was closed.  In 2010 the new Luna Park Coney Island opened.  

This postcard was mailed in 1906!

Gibson Art Co.   1908- Cincinatti, OH A publisher of greeting cards. Many of their illustrations floated within the white paper field of the card, which was a distinctly American inovation in design. Gibson’s postcards were not numbered.

International Art Publishing Co. Ltd.   (1895-1915)
New York, NY

In 1895 Wolf & Co. and the Art Lithographic Publishing Co. founded this subsidiary (International Art Publishing Co.) to take over production of their holiday and souvenir cards. Samuel Garre, the manager of the Art Lithographic Publishing Company assumed management of this new entity. They would grow into an important publisher of artist signed cards, which were printed in Germany.
