Beautiful handmade note cards!

I love making handmade papers from the shredder. In previous posts I have shared how easy it is to make paper with the Arnold Grummer Paper Making Mill, if you don't believe me, watch the video on Basic Paper Making HERE.

Personal notecards are the best to receive, also great gifts to give as a notecard gift set.  For the cards below I made handmade sheets of paper with my Arnold Grummer Paper Making Mill. Almost all of my papers are made with papers from my shredder.  The color is added with scrap cardstock.
Here are the papers I made using my Arnold Grummer's Paper Making Mill. .
The base card was made from shredded papers from my shredder.
The papers above were made from scraps of leftover papers that were any shade of green and any shade of purple.  These are the results I got. On some bits of  Arnold Grummer's Iridescent Flakes and Arnold Grummer's Gold Dust were added.

Paper pulp can be cast in clay molds, acrylic, molds for polymer clay, cookie cutters and more. Today I am using clay molds that I had in my kitchen.  They were given to me as a gift a while back and I never used them much in the kitchen.  Now they will be part of my paper making supplies!

Here you see the paper pulp in some of my clay molds.  Press the pulp into the mold and use a sponge and then use a paper towel to get out the excess water.  The more water you remove the faster it will dry!
Once they are dry you can gently ease the paper casts out of clay form.

Lightly coat the casts with a couple of coats of gesso, drying between layers.

After the gesso is completely dry the images were painted with Faber Castell Gelatos.  When painting with Gelatos use water sparingly.

Layer the hand made papers, add a bit of ribbon and adhere the cast to the card base.

Handmade Cards!

Giving and receiving handmade cards is the best!
I love it when someone sends me a card they made.

Cards made with Arnold Grummer's Papermill Kit, AlteredPages.com collage sheets and Craft Attitude™ printable film!

I love the reaction I get from people when I tell them I made the paper! Then when I tell them most of the paper is made from paper in my shredder they are amazed!

Here are two BIRD cards, all papers used are handmade using the Arnold Grummer's Papermill Kit!
The papers used were made from scarps of leftover papers that were any color of yellow and any color of green.  These are the results I got. On some bits of  Arnold Grummer's Iridescent Flakes and Arnold Grummer's Gold Dust were added.
For the card base fold one sheet of hand made paper in half using the ScorPal.  When using the Arnold Grummer's Papermill Kit your sheets of paper will be approximately 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches. Then rip paper for the panel on the card. To do this lightly fold the paper where you want it to rip and dampen it lightly with water so you have control of the paper while ripping.
I printed some of my AlteredPages.com collage sheets on Craft Attitude with my inkjet printer. On the ink side of the film apply glue stick and adhere to the panel.
One of the cards has Gel Medium painted over the picture panel.
Add a bit of ribbon and adhere the panels to the base, you have beautiful cards for any occasion.

A Card for Mom!

My mother loved hummingbirds, well she loved all birds! In fact she had so many bird houses and feeders the trees outside her house was called "BEAKSBURG!"

Today, I have a card made completely with handmade papers using the Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit. If this is your first time hearing about hand made paper with Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit, be sure to watch the Basic Paper Making video making paper couldn't be any easier.

This past weekend was a paper making weekend!
I usually start with paper from the paper shredder.

I made papers with Arnold Grmmer's Gold Dust, Arnold Grummer's Iridescent Flakes and specialty pulp.

The purple, pink and green papers were made with scraps of  color cardstock.

The flowers were made pressed in a silicone mold the Hummingbird and heart were made with cookie cutters (in the Arnold Grummer's Papermill.)

Here is my finsihed card. The base is a full pink sheet of handmade paper folded in half.  Layered with a portion of a purple sheet with decorative punched edges. The hummingbird was molded with a cookie cutter, flower that was made in a silicone mold and a leaf torn from a sheet of handmade green paper!

This is a perfect Mother's Day Card!

Arnold Grummer's Bird Notes!

A few weeks ago I shared this post on the Arnold Grummer's blog.

I was making more papers, working on my technique of making THIN papers.  Why?  To make it easier to fold the paper and get really nice mitered corners.

When making the paper I used Arnold Grummer's Paper Additive and on some of the sheets I added Arnold Grummer's Iridescent Flakes.

Supplies:
Arnold Grummer's Complete Paper Mill Kit
Arnold Grummer's Paper Additive
Arnold Grummer's Iridescent Flakes
Arnold Grummer's Sticky Notes Starter Kit
Paper from the shredder
Bird cookie cutter
Pattern paper
Ribbon Flower
Again you find me working with the Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit. If this is your first time making paper with Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit, be sure to watch the Basic Paper Making video making paper couldn't be any easier.

Here are some of my very thin sheets of paper first just after being poured. Second just before I sponge out the water.
To make my little birds I put a cookie cutter on the the screen in the Arnold Grummer's Papermill.  Then carefully poured the pulp in the cutter. Drain the water just like I was making a sheet of paper.

My finished products this time around.  Little birds and thin sheets of paper.

Now to make one of Arnold Grummer's Sticky Notes Starter Kit.  The instructions are right on the template!
First, trace the template on to a piece of handmade paper. Cute the outside solid lines.

Glue book boards in place first covers then spine, using the traced fold lines as guides. Fold, press and glue long flaps first. Then fold in the ends.  My paper was pretty thin and folded nicely.

Glue liner onto inside of book. Let  glue dry, gently score and fold cover.

Glue note pad inside of book.

Embellish cover. Wrap the book with ribbon and cover with  a strip of paper that coordinates with the inside cover. Add a couple of flowers and one of my paper birds.
