Paris is one of my favorite themes... using DecoArt & Altered Pages Products!

I LOVE PARIS!!!

Every chance I get I use Paris as a theme.

This month Altered Pages Design team is working with products from DecoArt... I love working with the products they sent. Clean up is very easy with just soap and water!!!

When I saw the Altered Pages Vintage Bicycles Collage Sheet images I thought of the Stencil I got from DecoArt that had PARIS on it.  Actually the Stencil has many city & country names on it!!!  Today all I need is PARIS!

I decided to work on a couple pages in my board bookFirst, Paint board book with gesso, dry.  Paint pages with DecoArt Fluid Acrylics: Primary Yellow, Primary Magenta, Cadmium Red Hue, Antiquing Cream and Interference Gold, dry.

With Punchinella and  DecoArt Fluid Acrylic Titanium White randomly stencil pages.  Using the Bon Voyage Stencil  and Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint, stencil PARIS on one page.  Apply Altered Pages Vintage Bicycles Collage Sheet with DecoArt Decou-page.  Randomly apply a bit of Gilders Paste Patina.
Distress edge of pages with Black ink.  Apply  Gilding Leafing Foil with Duo - Adhesive.

Layered Art Doll for Unruly PaperArts

It was a great honor to be the Spotlight Artist for the month of July at Unruly PaperArts.  The theme for the month was one of my favorites "Layer on Layer".  I used a lot of paints, inks, mists, paper, fabric, images to create layers upon layers in my art! I am sharing the project I made for my "Layer upon Layers" with my Layered Art Doll.

My Art Doll is a page in my Board Book called Fabulous Femmes.

Before adding anything to the page ink the edges.  Depending on the project will dictate the color or ink.  For this project black ink was used. I like using ink instead of paint because ink absorbs in to the book board.

Vintage Text Paper was added to the page. When covering a page cut the paper a little larger, use an emery board to sand down the edges. The ink around the edges will show.

The edge is distressed with Dew Drop Memento Toffee Crunch.  The page is gently inked with Memento Luxe Rhubarb Stalk then spritzed with Dylusions Ink Spray - Pomegranate

Add a thin sporadic layer of Duo adhesive to adhere gold leaf to one half the page.

Adhere Altered Pages collage images (head, wings, arms and torso) to thin chipboard (like cereal box). Fuzzy cut images. Cut Glitz frame in half and ink with Memento Luxe Rhubarb Stalk and Dew Drop Memento - Toffee Crunch.  Spray the wings with Shimmer Mist.  Adhere images

Ink Leaky Shed chipboard crown with Delicata Golden Glitz ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  To give the crown an enamel effect add embossing powder several times.  Top off the crown with Dew Drops.

Embellish with lace and Petaloo Flowers.

Femmes Board Book Cover

Glue books are a lot of fun to create!
is be a perfect book to make one!
I am creating a book that is some where between a glue book and a lot of mini collages.

The Arched Door Blank Board Book is the base for my "Fashionable Femmes" book.  During May I will be sharing it as I create pages in it!

First, ink the edges of the book with Tsukineko StazOn Midi Spiced Chai.  Cut the pattern paper to fit the front of the book and ink edges. Adhere pattern paper to the book.

Using the inkjet, print the Altered Pages Collage Sheets ATC Decorative Boarders and Architecture on Craft Attitude™ printable film. Layer one of the  ATC Decorative Boarders over the image of woman from  Color Pink ATC's sing glue stick on the printed side of the Craft Attitude™ film. Cut the column for the Archticture collage sheet.  Attach images to book cover.

Add flowers. "Fashionable Femmes" is stamped directly on the book, Airmail is stamed with Tsukineko StazOn Midi Spiced Chai on cardstock stamps.

To finish the cover spritz with Imagine Crafts irRESISTible Bronze, you will love this product. It adds a bit of texture to the surface.  If you look closely you can see the texture on the cover of the book.
