Tag Tuesday - Calendars Postcards

The challenge this week was to include postcard in some way.  The real thing, word or something to do with one.  On this tag I have copied the back of a couple old postcards for early 1900... the young lady is from a postcard... then there are some stamps.  You may have to click on the image to better read the postcard!!!

Tag Tuesday - Calendars

This week Louise at Kard Krazy challenged us to use a calendar. I love old calendars and found this one in my stash of ephemera. Can you believe this beautiful lady was used on a Marine By-Products Fertilizer Company back in 1940?

TAG TUESDAY - BANNERS

This week Louise at Kard Krazy challenged us to use BANNERS... this was FUN!
My tag is on a 7 Gypsies tag... with the background on it. I picked the girl from the picture I used on the school tag last week and blew it up to a larger size. The embellishments are from my stash... and there is a lot of it in my house!

Tag Tuesday - Scrapbook!

This week on Tag Tuesday Louise challenged us to to do a Family Heritage Tag that could be used as an embellishment for scrapbooking. Well I know my mother is putting together 4 albums for each of us of our youth. I decided to do one that she could use.

My youth was spent in Southern California... before Interstates! My parents would pile the four of us in the car and we would go for weekend road trips. That is the theme of my tag this week. Road Trips of my youth. This is just a few there were many more!

Postcards from the top are:

Julian, California (where mom's grandfather homesteaded)

Castle at Disneyland

Grauman’s Chinese Theater

Indio, California

Mount Palomar Observatory

Aerial Tramway, Palm Springs

Huntington Hartford Library & Museum

(Click on the tag to get a better view of the post cards)

Tag Tuesday - NO PAPER PLEASE

Today at Tag Tuesday Louise challenged us not to use paper!!!! WHAT NO PAPER!!! Well, I thought about it and realized there were a lot of options. Next, what do I have here in my stash that I can use. Then the ideas kept coming: mica, cardboard, cloth, plastic, glass and wood. I finally settled for a transparency.

I have two layers of transparencies here. One with the woman, measuring tape and envelope. The second, with the large roses. I layered them, holding them together with the eyelet. To view other tags click HERE.

Tag Tuesday - Mannequin

This past weekend my friend Peggy, from Simply Renewed, asked me, “How does one get back in the creative spirit after a long hiatus.” I thought for a moment then replied, “If you check out the challenges on my blog and pick a couple to follow that is a great place to start.” It has been months since I have sat down and created. Life has been very busy and during that time my mojo disappeared.

I decided to take my own advice and am taking on a couple of challenges this week. If you haven’t guessed TAG TUESDAY hosted by Louise at Kard Krazy is one of the challenges I am going to do each week. This week she has a guest host Sarah of Vintage Figments. Sarah challenged us to make a tag using the mannequin template found here at Mirkwood Designs.

My tag is stamped with a collage image of Paris from Hero Arts, also stamped the word PARIS (from an unknown source, if you happen to know who made the stamp I would be very thankful.) The image of the lady is from a "Ladies Home Journal" 1906 ad for shoes. The tag is finished with a little lace around the collar with a little bling for a brooch and pink dresden foil along the bottom. The ribbon for the tag is off the shoulder!

Tag Tuesday Challenge

The challenge was to use something that was punched on the tag.  My snowflakes are my punched embellishment.
Sorry, the photo is a bit dark.  The tag is from Basic Grey Fruitcake, the chipboard swirl Maya Road.  the trumpeting angels are clipart printed on a transparency and the angels are victorian scrap.  I used gold Stickles on the snow flakes and Iced Stickles on the chipboard.

Tag Tuesday Challenge

Louise at Kard Krazy challenged us to use the colors Silver, Green and Purple... in real life the purples look more like the same color.  I used SU stamps on this tag.
