In Honor of Firefighters!

A SALUTE TO THOSE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN

This week my Hobby Baby project is a tribute to all the firefighters that put their life in danger in the line of duty. During this time of year when so many forest fires take place they are out there hour after hour, day after day.
Here you see the boards that come in the kit. I have covered the base and middle frame with Pebble Inc pattern paper and the other two with 24k Gold Piccolo Embossing Powder. This is the most amazing embossing powder... It so thick. I just LOVE it.
You can see My work space. Before I started I played with the placement of my K&Co paper embellishments. I love the protection the frame provides for the paper.
Assembling the frame. I am not sure if you can see the two holes in the frame. These are there to help you line up all the layers of the frame. I love how easy it makes assembly. These will be can be covered with Piccolo Decor.
Final project, I have it angled trying to keep the glare off the globe for pictures.

Bubble Frames Tell A Story

When I saw the Story Tellers Fancy Rectangle Globe Frame from Hobby Baby I thought of my favorite story the Wizard of OZ and all the wonderful paper Graphic 45 has made.

First, I cut my images from Graphic 45 papers and used Crystal Lacquer on them.
I covered the Base and two middle frames with Graphic 45 papers. The top most frame I covered with Piccolo Vintage Silver Enamel Poweder using the Piccolo Enamel Powder adhesive.
The flower and leaf vine Piccolo Card Decor were also covered with Piccolo Enamel Powders.
In these pictures you see everything assembled before the bubble is added.  Images were adhered with glue dots and foam tape to give dimension.

Here you can see the Piccolo Enamel Powders on the outermost frame. It was also used to edge the second frame, Vintage Silver layered with Mossy Green.
A close up of the Piccolo Card Decor flowers.
Before adding the bubble i-roc gems were adhered to the center of the flowers.
Finally the bubble is added.

Hobby Craft Baby Design Team!

Have you seen the products Hobby Baby Craft has on the market?  Don't let the name fool you. At first I thought I don't have any babies so I will pass on looking at the site. I was wrong!!! I just fell in love with their globe frames.  I haven't had a chance to get my hands on any at this time, but I believe they are great for altering, saving keepsakes and much more. Also you can get some beautiful embossing powders from Hobby Baby Craft, check them out here HERE! Then there's the Card Decor HERE! Since I am to taken by the products I decided to try for the Hobby Baby Craft design team.
To start I took an average frame I picked up at the thrift store.
With an embossing pad I dabbed the frame and added vintage embossing powder and then verde embossing powder (both of the powders are from my stash.)
The background paper and image I am using is from K&Company. The image is a dimensional sticker I painted with clear crystal lacquer.
These are a sample of the Card Decor pieces from Hobby Baby Craft. I painted them with Gesso.  I must say I am very pleased with the quality of these small die cut pieces. They are cut from a something like a thin pressed wood. No little perforations to sand off.
After the Gesso dried I added a bit of color to the Card Decor pieces using crystal lacquer and Terri Sproul Mixers.
Add a few jewels from Memory Box and my frame is finished. I LOVE the transformation!
